Therapy for Adults
Molested as Children (AMAC)

Sexual abuse victims are at risk for psychological, emotional, social, and physical problems that can last into adulthood. But such adults can still be treated and helped.

ChildSafe has developed a program specifically tailored for adult men and women who were sexually molested as children or adolescents. We provide evaluation, individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy for these survivors. The goal is to empower them with the skills necessary to establish a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

We've found that it's important for AMAC participants to have worked with an individual therapist, or be currently working with one, before they enter group treatment. This enables them to deal with the issues on a deeper level than can be done in a group where the time is shared. Additionally, any triggers for trauma can be identified and worked on in indivual therapy.

Once they're prepared, adult survivors can benefit from our AMAC therapy group. It focuses on helping adults understand the impact of child sexual abuse and process their thoughts, feelings, and resulting behaviors.

See Quotes about ChildSafe for some of the things our adult clients have said about their experiences with our therapy.

ChildSafe is a non-profit agency. We accept Victim Compensation, health insurance, and private pay. A sliding scale based on income is available.
