How You Can Help ChildSafe has been helping clients heal from the trauma of sexual abuse since 1986 – meaning we'll mark our our 25th anniversary in 2011! Here are 25 reasons to help ChildSafe. In April 2011, ChildSafe's Clinical Director Val Macri-Lind wrote a newspaper editorial to draw attention to National Child Abuse Prevention Month. It beautifully explained our mission, and you can read it in PDF form here. ChildSafe serves clients without regard to their ability to pay, and many who receive our help simply can't cover what it costs us to treat them. We make ends meet through grants from generous donors, occasional special fundraisers, and gifts of time, money, and material goods from the wider community. If you'd like to help ChildSafe, we'd welcome your involvement. Here are some of the ways you could contribute: Monetary donations to ChildSafe
Contributions can be in any amount and will be used the way you specify. For instance, you might "sponsor" a client who can't afford the minimum $5 an hour for therapy, or contribute toward buying a big item on the Wish List. Or you could simply ask that your money go toward enabling ChildSafe to keep on serving all those who need treatment, regardless of their ability to pay. For info, contact our Executive Director, Jane Bradley, at (970) 472-4133 ext. 205, or . • Or donate right now:
Donations of material goods
For instance, school supplies, art supplies, office supplies and equipment, snacks. Specific items currently needed are listed on the Wish List: Stuff page.
Donations to help needy clients
Things like coupons for food or gasoline, or professional services such as dental, medical, legal, etc.
Volunteer your time
We receive a great deal of help from our active, enthusiastic volunteers. You can join them by offering to help with routine office work, mailings, fundraising events, etc. Or you can offer your particular talent or expertise (are you a great photographer, or cook, or computer tech, or... ?) You can see some of the many things our volunteers do for us on the Our Volunteers page, and a list of jobs we currently need volunteers for on the Wish List: Volunteers page. If you'd like to volunteer, here's a simple Volunteer Application Form you can fill out and submit, on paper or via email. The form will also tell you who to contact. You can download it in either of two fomats:

.• A church group, • Book club, • Quilting group, • P.E.O. group, • In fact, any type of social or interest group, Serve in a leadership role
One way is to serve on the ChildSafe board of directors (an unpaid two-year term). Or assume responsibility for managing a ChildSafe initiative, such as publishing a newsletter, initiating and running a fundraiser, or publicizing ChildSafe within the community.
ChildSafe is a small, friendly organization, and helping us is easy. Because we're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all contributions are fully tax deductible.
