Getting Started with Our Programs Getting started with ChildSafe begins with a phone call to (970) 472-4133. You may be referred by a community agency or call on your own. Either way, just tell the receptionist (or leave a message) that you're interested in talking about one of our programs: 1. CSATP – if the problem you're calling about involves a child or teen who has been sexually abused or is being abused now (see Call us with your questions and concerns for further information) 2. AMAC – if the problem involves an adult who was abused as a child (you may speak anonymously with a therapist) When you call, our clinical director or other lead therapist will get back to you within 24 to 48 hours and schedule an initial appointment (intake session) to discuss your case and the concerns you have. At this initial meeting, the therapist will talk to you about your options and what ChildSafe can offer for your situation. If you decide you want to start treatment, you'll be asked to fill out paperwork and will be given a copy of our disclosure statement including your privacy rights. Payment options will be discussed, including the Victim Compensation program and ChildSafe's fees (we offer a sliding scale based on income). If you have private health insurance, our billing specialist will call to check on your benefits. You'll be asked to sign a Release of Information so that ChildSafe can coordinate your services with other professionals involved in your case. Once you start, a regular therapist will be assigned to your case (or sometimes more than one therapist, especially if multiple family members are involved). They'll call you to set up scheduling that works for all concerned. ChildSafe therapists work as a team, and meet weekly to discuss cases and coordinate treatment. You'll find that ChildSafe is small and friendly, like a family. Don't hesitate to call. |
